Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
Titus 3:5-6 - NKJV.
You've been born again. You have gone through the same rebirth all those Christians you read of in the Bible went through. Like them, you are a new person; you have a new life! When you received Jesus into your life He poured out upon you God's Holy Spirit and by the regenerative power His Spirit you became a new creation.
What a day that was! Do you remember how you started to sleep better? Worries didn't worry you half as much! The Holy Spirit had closed down the source of fear that had been in your heart. The Bible tells us you received the Spirit "of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7) You became a new creation born to hope and a glorious future.
