God has rest for you

by Pastor Simon

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.

Hebrews 4:9 - NKJV

One person says, "Hang on!" and another person says, "Let go!" Who's right? Well, in the right context they're both right. If you're trying to engineer the situation in your own strength, you have to let go! You have to let go and let God handle it. You have to let God take charge of the situation. Likewise if you're worried, you have to let go! You have to let God have your worries and let Him take care of them. Heb.13:5-6, Phil.4:6-7.

You have to hang on! Having put things in God's hands, hang on. Hang on to God's right hand. Hang as He upholds you. Hang on to God as He leads you. Also hang on FOR God. Hang on for Him to sort things out and put things in order. This is what scripture is exhorting you to when it says, "Be still, and know that I am God." You have to get quiet on the inside while God performs His wonders in the circumstances around you. Your hands and feet may keep in motion but on the inside you should be at rest. Isa.41:10, Psa.46:10.

In the Spirit I saw two words. One was "rest" and the other "responsibility". With them the Spirit said, "When a Christian thinks 'responsibility' he should also think 'rest'". Rest in the Lord in the face of any responsibility you have. Take off the back-end of responsibility leaving "res" and then add the "t" from Trinity. You now have rest. Surround yourself in the Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Now you can rest in the Lord no matter what responsibility you have. For you who are in Christ Jesus there is rest! 1Joh.5:7.

Let go, hang on and rest!
