With God on your side

by Pastor Simon

Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

Proverbs 16:3 - Amplified Bible

Rushing off in a hurry to do and to say shows a lack of awareness of God's desire to have a partnership relationship with you. It can also lead to a project following a pathway littered with frustration and pitfalls. By committing your works to God at the earliest stage, the planning stage, you give Him chance to direct you past the obstacles.

My son, Ben, first set up my Teaching Pages web site back in 1997. After that I took over maintaining and upgrading it. A lot has changed and been added since then but the basic concept remains the same. Ben has a gift. He is willing to research thoroughly a project. He gets a thorough vision and understanding of what the project requires before starting its implementation. As a result, his IT projects are both successful and enduring. His way of doing things provides an example of how to tackle projects as a Christian. You have to let God envision and instruct you in your project from the very moment the idea of it comes to you. In this way, your project will succeed and endure.

God has an "aerial view" of things! He can guide you as to which projects are worth setting your hands to. He can give you insight into how best to approach the projects you're minded to tackle. Submit the whole of any project to Him and He can present it back to you with hints, helps and redirections that take into account things that only He can see! God delights in being involved in His children's projects. Phil.2:13.

Let God be your chief adviser!
