The Daily Guide
Our privilege
We pray that you will be strengthened from God's glorious power, so that you may be able to pass through any experience and endure it with joy. You will be able to thank the Father because you are privileged to share the lot of the saints who are living in the light.
Colossians 1:11-12 - J.B.Phillips' translation
I heard one morning Alexander Scorby reading from Deuteronomy 25. As I listened some of the prescribed judgements for transgressors made me cringe. My mind staggered at it and questioned it. However, the moment I prayed about it the Holy Spirit gave me just one thing - thankfulness! Thankfulness? Yes. I started praising God in thankfulness that in Christ I've been liberated from judgement by the action of God's grace! Eph.2:8-10, Joh.1:17.
What we all need as Christians is to have a progressively increasing knowledge of God! We need a growing revelation of what He has granted to us in Christ Jesus. Whenever this is taking place in our lives then we find ourselves daily excited over what God in Christ has brought us into. By the knowledge of God and with the Lord's strength there's a wonderful enabling to praise God wholeheartedly with joyful lips no matter what our earthly circumstance.
Tell your soul why it should be blessing God! Remember His benefits! Two great places in God's Word where you get reminded of His benefits are Psalm 103:1-4 and Colossians 1:12-14. You are reminded that you've been rescued and conveyed into the kingdom of His Son! Thank God you don't have to live under judgement for you have been redeemed and forgiven! Praise God you're a New Testament saint. As you delight in the position you have in Him you'll draw others to Jesus!
Look at what God through Christ has done!
