Turning the tide

The condition. Are you suffering from despondency or discouragement? I'm going to assume you are a Christian and you are mentally in health. If so, what you are going through is spiritual and I know how this has happened. What's more I have from God's Word a remedy for you. It will bring about your restoration to hope and courage.
The attack. If you are despondent the devil has got at you through the route in which he went at (unsuccessfully) Jesus! In tempting Jesus the devil attacked him in three areas: identity, lifestyle and destiny. If he can, he will attack you in the same way. He will attack your identity as a child of God, your lifestyle of worshipping God and your destiny of glory in this life with Christ. If you are despondent it's because the devil has been having success with an attack. You can resist him and put him to flight!
The remedy. You have three defences against the devil's three attacks. 1) Re-affirm. It's the answer to the devil's attack against your identity. Look up the scriptures that declare you are a child of God and then start proclaiming them aloud daily, even hourly. Tit.3:5-6. 2) Re-commit. This is the answer to the attack on your lifestyle. Set yourself a firm period and place for quality worship time and then commit to follow through with it daily. Psa.63. 3) Re-envision. This is the answer to the attack on your destiny. Earnestly meditate upon the scriptures that outline your destiny as a child of God. Speak them aloud! Ro.4:6-8.
