Experiencing God
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31 - NKJV
A man asked me for a scripture to tell his wife she needed to love him. I replied, "Scripture tells you to love her. She is told to honour you." I mentioned this to a fellow minister and he responded, "Paul did write to Titus that the older women should exhort the younger women to love their husbands." His response set me reading the letter to Titus. Paul guides Titus' ministry in Titus 2. He tells Titus how to instruct the older women. He begins, "Tell them they must live as if every act in life is an act of worship." (I am reading Barclay's translation.)
How about that? Wow! How about us all living as if every act in life is an act of worship?! Every act in life an act of worship - the family eating together, the married couple making love together, the Christian friends socialising together, the athlete running a race. How much more would come out of those events! Every act would have a sense of fulfilment and an in rushing of the divine.
The psalmist declared, "In Your presence is fullness of joy". John the Beloved declares, "I was in the Spirit (rapt in His power) on the Lord's Day". You can experience every event in life like that by living as if every act in life is an act of worship! Paul tells Titus to instruct the older men to be, "wise in the art of living". What I've described above is the ultimate in doing that very thing. Psa.16:11,Rev.1:10.
