Living in God's peace

by Pastor Simon

My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places, Though hail comes down on the forest, And the city is brought low in humiliation.

Isaiah 32:18-19 - NKJV - NKJV

Bob hadn't been a member of my church very long when he took hold of those precious promises above and wrote them out for his home. When he moved house a few years later those promises went with him. He said, "While moving I lifted up the TV and there underneath was the promise card. It must have slipped under there. I picked it up to take with me. Those promises of God for my home have meant a lot to me."

I would echo that statement. Those precious promises have meant a lot to us in our home! My wife and I have taken those promises to heart, we've praised God for them, petitioned Him with them and spoken them over our home. At present we have five children living at home plus a foreign student who's studying English. This means there are eight people in our household. Everyone seems to prefer being at home to being anywhere else. Why's that? I believe it's because God has made our home a peaceful habitation!

In our home there is a peace that the world cannot give. It's the peace of God given to us through Jesus Christ. In it our home is made a secure dwelling and a quiet resting place. In a world that knows so much confusion and strife this is a special blessing! It is a blessing that's towards you and your household in Christ also. God cares about your home and your family. He wants your home to be full of His peace. Praise Him for the precious commitment He has made to you through His promises. Speak His promises over your home. Joh.14:27.

God cares for you and your family!
