Strategy for change

by Pastor Simon

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. I press towards the goal for the prize.

Philippians 3:12,14 - NKJV

Have we attained? Have we individually made it to perfection? I believe most committed Christians know they should be making progress into Christ's highest and best for their lives. I imagine you personally know there are changes in your life you really ought to make. Are you struggling to do it? In your heart you want to make the changes. What you need is a strategy to get your mind and body where your heart wants to be!

My daughter Angelina is a junior target archer. She has a beautiful form that indicates tremendous potential. She's got her sights on an Olympic gold medal. A lot of archers just do it for a hobby. They go to the target range and shoot off arrows without keeping track of how many they shoot or the points they score. Not Angelina. She has a goal. She tracks her progress. She writes down the scores. She's knows how she's doing on her road to success. Angelina has a strategy to attain her desire.

You need a strategy to attain your desire; a strategy to make those changes you know you should make. Your heart has the desire, give your body and mind the plan! Here's a strategy that will work if you'll diligently apply it. 1) Write it down. Put on paper your long term and short term goals. 2) Speak it out. Tell yourself aloud where you'll soon be. 3) Monitor it. Make some notes in a diary or something on how you're progressing. 4) Talk about your progress. Testify to others how far you've come with God's help towards your goal.

Attain the goal Christ beckons you to!
