God loves you!
God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
1 John 4:9 - NLT
I tried to be good enough for God to love me for many years and failed miserably! Then I discovered God had demonstrated His unconditional love for me - He had sent His Son Jesus as a sacrifice for me. The whole matter I found was now on a different plane - believing instead of achieving! It caused me to see my relationship with God was based on what Jesus had done for me, not on what I had or hadn't managed to achieve. Ro.3:27-28.
It's the devil's tactic to try to persuade you that God has withdrawn His favour from you. The devil jumps right in at that opportunity when he sees you feeling sorry for yourself about the mess you're in or the mess you are. He sees it as a chance to confuse your thinking about God and God's relationship to you. He will whisper in your ear, "God doesn't love you! Why should He?" Unless you respond to that quickly and determinedly with God's Word he will rob you of your ability to receive from God! Respond with the scripture I've given above - 1 John 4:9.
"I've made too many mistakes," someone will say, "and God won't forgive me." Not true! That's an idea the devil implants in people's thinking! It's contrary to God's Word. The Word He has recorded for you in the Bible gives a different story. God's Word declares, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins." You may be in severe distress right now but I'm here to tell you that, in spite of the devil's squeeze on you, God loves you still! God's favour can reach you wherever you are! 1Joh.1:9.
Jesus is God's love for you!
