Seek the Lord

by Pastor Simon

Set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God. Therefore arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the Lord.

1 Chronicles 22:19 - NKJV

The most needed process in your Christian life is that of seeking the Lord. Before your day or before your activity you have to set your heart and your soul to do this. It is in the time spent seeking the Lord that you find power, provision and guidance to prosper as you go. Isa.40:31.

Precision instruments generally require setting. Doing that properly requires you read the manual. In the manual you find the direction you need and with that you can focus on setting the instrument so it will perform exactly what you want it to do. Setting equipment to perform a process takes time. You have to take time off from production. Likewise, with yourself in this life. Likewise, with your heart and your soul. You need to take time off from "being productive." You need to read the manual, the Bible, so you can get directions for setting your heart and soul to seek the Lord. Then set your heart and soul. Set yourself on seeking the Lord. You have to take time out from busyness to spend time in the Lord's presence.

Time apart seeking the Lord is precious. In seeking the Lord you find refreshing, revitalising and vital adjustments to your life. Alright, so in setting your heart and your soul to seek the Lord you are taking time away from life's activities but it is just in doing that that you find God's blessing in the way of strength and guidance. It's no good going about to do the Lord's work without the Lord's power. Before you arise to "build the Lord's house" first set your heart and your soul to seek Him. Psa.127:1.

Take time to set your heart and soul!
