Finding your strength
Thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: "In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength."
Isaiah 30:15 - NKJV
Your strength - the strength the Lord has for you - is accessed in the life zone of quietness and confidence. When you move away from that zone you move away from where your strength is. The people of God who reside in that zone have a strength in life that is a mystery to those outside of it.
The Christian life is given us to live in the strength of the Lord. It's tough indeed when you try to live the Christian lifestyle without the strength of the Lord and the power of His might. After all, it is that strength that makes that lifestyle possible. It is for this reason that the apostle Paul, when exhorting us to wear the spiritual armour of God, tells us first about the condition we are to be in. He says, "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might." How are you to be strong like that? Where is that strength to be found? It's found in quietness and confidence. How do you get into that place? By returning to the Lord and coming to rest in Him. Eph.6:10
Turn from your problems to meet with the Problem Solver. Turn from the darkness to face the Light. Turn from your distress to encounter the One who has said, "Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid." Pray: "Father, I return to you in Jesus' name. I come before you Father as your child through Jesus Christ to find rest, grace and mercy at Your throne. Lord, restore me to quietness and confidence. In Your presence may my strength be renewed." Joh.14:27.
Stop, look to the throne, listen!
