In company with Christ

by Pastor Simon

If anyone is desiring to come after me as a follower of mine...let him start taking the same road that I take in company with me, and let him continue to do so moment by moment.

Mark 8:34 - Kenneth Wuest's translation

Christianity is a journey. It's one walked with God to a new horizon. It is a journey bringing about change in us. My vision is that in company with God, in a soon coming tomorrow, I'll reach the new horizon I set out for yesterday. I plan to arrive ready to be all God would have me be and equipped to accomplish all God would have accomplished. Phil.3:13-14.

Moses, with eyes on Him who is invisible, arrived on the horizon of the Exodus. From there he successfully led the children of Israel out of Egypt to their appointment with God at Mount Sinai. At the time he was in his 80s. Likewise, Caleb was in his 80s when he arrived on the horizon of the Promised Land. In that place, after he'd helped others take their lands, he said, "Now I'll take the mountain of Hebron for my land!" It was a fight but he took it. Num.14:24, Jos.14:10-14.

As you approach thirty or forty or whatever decade of life you're coming up to, what's your mind set? Are you on the journey? Are you looking for that new horizon? Are you going through the changes on the inside so you'll be ready on the outside to step into every opportunity that'll be offered you there? The answers to those questions will depend on how honest you are with yourself about where you're at now, how you've been in the past and how strongly you yearn to be a more usable vessel to God tomorrow. Prov.4:18.

You and God can amaze the world!
