The faith walk
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 - NKJV
What are you seeing? What's got your attention? Circumstances immediately around people usually get the attention of most people. Does what's visibly around you at this moment really tell you anything about the place you are shortly to arrive in? As Christians we are on a journey to a destination promised by God. Therefore, take your eyes off the seen and put your focus on the unseen things of God! 2Cor.5:7.
Some years ago my wife got into the car and started complaining about the people and the circumstances at the place she worked at that time. "You know," I said, "you're having a moan." "Oh, is that moaning," she replied with hint of surprise. "Yes," I responded, "what you need to do is put it behind you and move on." Then I added, "Let's pray and give it all to the Lord for Him to sort out and put right." In reality, my wife is the most cheerful and positive person around but on this occasion she was caught off guard. It can happen to any of us if we don't keep focused on what the Lord has done, is doing and has promised He is going to do. 2Cor.1:10
God loves to hear a joyful sound from His people. He's been so good to us, shown us His love and given us His promises. In response let's continually be expressing our gratitude with rejoicing. No more moaning. Let's get on with the contest of life! Let's run it looking unto Jesus! Heb.12:1-2.
Make a joyful sound to our faithful God!
