Beholding heaven

by Pastor Simon

Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, "Do you not know what these are?" And I said, "No, my lord." So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the Lord of hosts."

Zechariah 4:5 - 6 - NKJV

The Bible provides us with a window into the realm that exists beyond the confines of time. The apostles and prophets were caught up into that realm to both see it and to it hear and to bring back reports from it. What they saw was so vivid to them that they often quantified it with measurements and numbers. The realm they entered they called heaven. At times, it was the Heavenly City itself that they entered. 2 Cor.12:2-4, Rev.21.

As you read their reports let your mind and emotions convert their words into sights and sounds before you. Beholding the audio visual realities of the realm of the Spirit will give you hope and with hope steadfastness. The scenery around your physical existence may be bleak but the sights and sounds of heaven are glorious towards you. You can carry on in your life knowing that might and the power available to you in this world may be failing but in heaven you have the Spirit of God on your side ready to uphold you and rescue you. 2 Cor.4:16-18.

Jesus called, "Look up, for your redemption draws near." It was a call to lift up our heads from gazing is if mezmerised at the crushing might of the powers of this world. It was call to look to the realm from whence your rescue and deliverance comes. It was a call to see the Lord Jesus Christ and all His holy angels arrayed in heaven on your behalf. As Elisha said to his servant when they were surrounded by an enemy army come to take him, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." Luk.21:28, 2 Kings 6:16.

Take heart at the sights of heaven
