Message to someone seeking faith in God
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son.

As Christians, let's all be involved in helping people to have faith in God through Jesus Christ. This is not always an easy task though given the lengths the devil has gone to destroy the basis of faith in the hearts of people in our generation. May this devotional message give you some pointers and encouragement towards helping a friend, colleague or family member find faith.
Someone responded to another of my devotional messages, "I think you must be making some assumptions about what I know in terms of the Christian faith. I think you are advocating belief in God's word! I don't know where to find God's word. If you mean in the Bible I don't know what is God's word and what is reported by the writers of the various books." The immediate reaction we all have as Christians is to fire back with, "It's all God's Word". Perhaps, though, a gentler more pointed answer is required.
A more pointed answer is found in the Bible passage above taken from the beginning of Hebrews. In it we are told how God has spoken to us. Specifically for us we are told He has spoken by His Son. In other words, the words that His Son, Jesus, delivered to us are God's Word. Find in the Gospels the words Jesus spoke and you know you have God's Word. The Gospel of St John is a good place to start. Ponder those words and take them to heart as reliable and true. Allow yourself to be persuaded by the Word of God spoken by Jesus Christ.
