The Daily Guide
Come with your heart
He came unto His own and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him to them He gave the power to become the sons of God.
John 1:12 - NKJV
As you personally respond to the Good News about Christ you start to participate in it. Your church's response, your parent's response, your wife's response does not enter you into participation in this wonderous Good News. It is down to your response.
The ministry of Jesus in the days of His flesh was characterised by ministry to individuals. In the four Gospels we are constantly hearing of individuals responding to His ministry. By their response they participate in the Good News of Christ. Take, for example, Blind Bartimaeus. Bart cried out, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" Hearing this Jesus stopped for him. "What do you want?" He asked. "I want to see," he replied. "Your faith has healed you," the Christ responded and immediately Bart received sight. Mar.10:46-52.
The proclamation of the Good News of Christ calls for a personal response. You are personally invited to participate in what Christ has accomplished for you. You are invited to receive what Christ's presence brings. Christ calls out, "If you thirst, come to Me and drink" and again, "If you are weary with a heavy load, come to Me and find rest." Your participation in what He offers only starts when you respond to the call, "Come to Me". Search the scriptures and see what responses are called for. Participate. Joh.7:37, Mat.11:28-30.
