The blossoming of your life

by Pastor Simon

Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where briers grew, myrtles will sprout up. This miracle will bring great honor to the Lord's name; it will be an everlasting sing of his power and love.

Isaiah 55:13 - NLT

How has God's watering you affected you? Are you blossoming? Does the fragrance of petals now rejoice the hearts of those who get close to you? Can colleagues, friends and relatives eat of fruit of the spirit found under your boughs? The mission and ministry of Christ in our lives is ordained to result in us being planted in this life as trees of righteousness to the glory of God. The work and presence of God upon our lives is to be readily evident to the those who enter our sphere of life.

Recently on a plane journey I had the most wonderful conversation with a lady who turned out to be a minister of the Lutheran church in Finland. It was a divine appointment for it was clear that God had been speaking to her heart and showing her many things on the vacation she was now returning home from. We talked of how salvation comes into a human life. It was a pastor-to-pastor insight and encouragement time we had. At the end she said, "I knew there was something different about you the moment you came to sit down."

We have to keep ourselves stirred up and practicing the things of God in our lives. If we allow ourselves to get lazy and languid about them then the knowledge of God's presence fades both for us and for those around us. On the other hand, if we live life spiritually as our Saviour Jesus Christ gave such careful instruction on then both we and others around us will sense the presence of God's light, life and love in our lives.

May God be glorified in your daily life
