Through faith
The genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
1 Peter 1:7 - NKJV
When my son Ben announced he planned to marry in South Korea a call up of faith was required. There were no natural resources we could call upon. Would we see the substance of our faith now at this time when it had to be called to the front? Praise God, yes! Two of our children who recently graduated and were favoured with exceptionally good jobs offered, without prompting, to pay the flight fares for me, my wife and our youngest child. Next problem. What about 8 foreign students in our home who would need to be fed and cared for while we were away? Forward stepped a friend not only with willingness but also with the considerable skills, strength and grace that this task would require. God bless her. Heb.11:1, Jam.2:18,26.
Many Christians get to those trying moments when natural resources come short and discover their faith is wanting. They failed to nurture their seed of faith with the water of the word of faith to ensure in such moments they would have a faith harvest ready to come into the barn. This seemed sadly to be illustrated by a message to us from a dear pastor on a hospital bed. He told us, "Regarding operation fee I am looking and asking God on my bed. I believe that He will send it through you". Was this genuine faith in God? Build genuine faith with the word of faith! Rom.10:17.
The genuineness of your faith is found on those occasions when faith gets called to the front. It's like the troops who've never yet been proven in battle, you only know if they are up to the fight when the circumstances of warfare call them to the front. So circumstances in your life suddenly require a call up of your faith, that is when you know if you've actually got unfeigned faith. If you have, it comes through for you - evidently for all to see. When unfeigned faith is found present in you enemies are thrust back, supplies are brought forwards, ground is taken and security, health and happiness is restored. The genuineness of your faith is found evidencing your relationship with God in those times when all the other resources in your life are found wanting. Mar.11:22-24, 1Tim.1:5, Heb.11:6.
