Good from Above
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
James 1:17 - NKJV
There's plain speaking for you. In fact, is there ever any ambivalence any where in God's Word when it comes to speaking of God? All its declarations about Him - His character, His will and His way - stand out as stated so as to leave no doubt over what is declared. How then do we get into the position where Christians are uncertain as to what comes from God and what comes from Satan?
How do Christians get into that position? It can only arise because people lean to their own understanding or, perhaps more likely, the understanding they have heard from others instead of looking to God's Word. God's Word is there to settle all uncertainty about the overall will and way of God for His people. You have to resort to God's Word, though, to get your uncertainties cleared up. A certain leper did exactly that, he resorted to Jesus. Matthew tells us, "And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, 'Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.' Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, 'I am willing; be cleansed.'" Mat.8:2-3.
The apostle Peter preached and declared, "Jesus of Nazareth (the Anointed One) went about doing good and healing all." Our Lord Jesus told Philip, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father." Does that leave any doubt about what comes from God and what comes from Satan? Good gifts, perfect gifts, good acts and healing comes from God and - by very definition of who Satan is - faulty gifts, troublesome gifts, evil acts and sickness comes from the devil. I can ensure you I know on that basis what to resist in my life!
