Do not be conformed to this world (this age),[fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind.
Romans 12:2 - Amplified Bible.
The renewing of your mind will transform you; not into someone else but into who you really are! You are a born again spirit. You live in a body (flesh) and you have a soul - with emotions, a mind and a will - but you are a spirit. By the renewing of your mind a transformation occurs - and your mind begins to serve you instead of being a slave to your flesh.
Far from losing who you are, by the renewing of your mind you will find who you are! By the renewing of the mind the mind acquires a new quality to it and a new liberty. The burden of constantly having to respond to and satisfy the flesh is lifted; instead the mind becomes a medium of expression for the spirit.
