His gifts were made that Christians might be properly equipped for their service, that the whole body might be built up until the time comes when, in the unity of common faith and common knowledge of the Son of God, we arrive at real maturity - that measure of development which is meant by "the fulness of Christ".

We are not waiting on Christ - Christ is waiting on us! The signs of the times are all around us and our expectation is great for His return. Yet Christ is returning for a bride who has made herself ready, a church that is standing in the measure of "the fulness of Christ" - a glorious church! (Rev.19:7; Eph.5:27)
We are going to have to lay aside our petty differences. We are going to have to come into a full and accurate knowledge from above. When will this happen? When we embrace the spiritual impartations coming from those with His gifts as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. When we, equipped by their ministry to us, build one another up by speaking to one another and serving one another in love.
