Freedom From Fear

by Pastor Simon

There cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master. But when Jesus heard it, He answered him (Jairus), saying, 'Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.'

Luke 8:50 - KJV.

Do you know the outcome of that story? Jairus took to heart Christ's exhortation and received his daughter raised to life again. You can't have faith and fear at the same time. You need faith - it connects you with the things of God. God uses your faith to bring good into your life. You have to resist fear. The devil uses fear to make a connection with you and bring bad into your life.

I used to tolerate a certain level of fear and its sister anxiety. I thought it was alright to have "butterflies in my tummy" about circumstances in my life. It's not! I was giving Satan opportunity to funnel failure and defeat into my life. Once I realised this I determined to change it. As I rejected fear and embraced the faith that says, "God is with me" then God was able to bring deliverance and victory into my life. You need to say with David, "What time I am afraid I will trust in You" or better still say with Isaiah, "I will trust and not be afraid". Psa.56:3, Isa.12:2, Psa.56:9.

Only faith succeeds. It's like there's a bridge with fear at one end and faith at the other. At one end, Job feared and lost his children. At the other end, Jairus believed and saw his daughter delivered to him alive! Oppose fear in the Name of Jesus. May the power and love of the Holy Spirit cast fear out of your life. Job 3:25, Luk.8:55, 1Joh.4:18.

Faith enjoys victory once fear gets evicted!
