"Crucify Him, crucify Him!"..."Father, forgive them"..."Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom."
Luke 23:21,34,42 - NKJV.
The victim about whom they shouted, "Crucify Him" became the victor to whom the thief pleaded, "Lord, remember me!" What brought about this astonishing change? Jesus, the victim, forgave them and became Jesus, the victor! He declined to retain the sin. Instead He let all resentment drop! The One who had been the object of pity became the One bestowing victor's favours.
How is it with you? In the midst of the unthankful, unholy and unloving you have a choice. In the face of sin and hurt against you have a choice. Will you nurse the sin and rehearse the sin or will you let all resentment drop? Will you stay an object of pity or will you become a bestower of blessing? In the love of God forgive them and be transformed from victim to victor!
