Now I am turning you over to God, our marvellous God whose gracious Word can make you into what he wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need in this community of holy friends.
Acts 20:32 - Message Translation.
Paul knew that out of his own resources he couldn't protect and grow up those in his care. He hadn't been able to do it with himself so he knew he wasn't going to be able to do it with anyone else either. For this reason, like he'd done with himself he did with others. He turned them over to God and His gracious Word.
Like Paul, you're going to have to turn yourself over to God and His gracious Word. Commit yourself to God. (Psalm 31:5) Commend yourself to God's Word. Safety is in God. Sustenance comes from His Word.
Like milk is to a baby, so is God's gracious Word to you. You'll grow on it. Drink it in as nourishment to your inner man. Take it daily to heart and watch yourself grow. Ingest it into your innermost being. It will build you up and confirm your inheritance among the saints.
