Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.
Hebrews 12:14 - NKJV.
Holiness. This has got to be an important issue. This scripture says without it no one gets to see the Lord. Holiness is a reflection of the personality of God. Do you know what happened at your new birth? You became a new creature. You were created like God in righteousness and true holiness. Now you are God's child in a condition of holiness by the Holy Spirit.
Question. "If I'm in a condition of holiness why do I need to pursue it?" Answer. The condition of holiness is like the condition of pregnancy.
As soon as the woman recognises her condition of pregnancy she does something about it. She improves her diet. She adapts her lifestyle to her new condition. She gets her close relatives to help her. She takes the advice of an expert. What is she doing? She's pursuing her pregnancy! Soon everyone knows about it and then there's a baby to enjoy!
