Heaven's Way Forward

by Pastor Simon

Make the Kingdom of God, and life in loyalty to Him, the object of all your endeavour, and you will get all these other things as well.

Matthew 6:33 - Barclay's translation

When I received Jesus it was like my eyes had suddenly been opened. I saw the vanity of my former life and I saw the glory of God's Kingdom. At the same time, my values changed, my loyalties changed and my prospective on life changed. The result was a determination in me to discard the philosophies of man that had failed me. I wanted instead to be putting His Kingdom and my relationship with Him first.

What are you putting first in your life? Christ's call is to put the Kingdom of God and life in loyalty to Him first. Reading the Gospel of Mark one morning I realised more of what it takes to do that. I was reading in Wuest's translation and a phrase stood out to me. It said, "Be putting your faith in the good news!" (Mark 1:15.) That's what it takes! You have to be putting your faith in the good news, namely, the good news that Jesus brought to us of God's Kingdom. Do that and you'll find you have what it takes to make the kingdom of God and life in loyalty to Him the object of all your endeavour.

Looking back over my Christian years it's wonderful to have been putting my faith in the Good News of the Kingdom. It's caused me to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. In doing that it has brought into my life a steady unfolding and emerging of provision, fulfilment, health and happiness beyond anything I could have imagined. Do the same! Put your faith in the Good News of the Kingdom. Make the focus of your life the Kingdom of God and your relationship with God. You'll be amazed at what will happen when you do!

Be blessed in the Kingdom!
