Rise To The Blessing

by Pastor Simon

Do you remember the scripture that says, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the Cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse. And now, because of that, the air is cleared and we can see that Abraham's blessing is present and available for non-Jews, too.

Galatians 3:13-14 - The Message Translation.

On the cross Jesus gave Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice on our behalf. He took death on Himself so we could have life. He became sin for us so we could become righteousness. He took the curse of the law on Himself so we could have the blessing of Abraham. He took on Himself what should have been ours in order to give to us what was rightfully His.

I want to honour His sacrifice by availing myself of what He, by His sacrifice, has made available to me. I see now how I once failed to honour Christ's substitutionary sacrifice by accepting into my life things that He gave Himself to liberate me from. I want to give the blessing of Abraham every opportunity of "coming on me and overtaking me"! Deuteronomy 28:3.

Christ has cleared the air! You can now rise out of the curse up into the blessing!
