The Fellowship Of The Holy Spirit
For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things.
Acts 15:28 - NKJV
The apostles and elders of the Church wrote this verse above in a letter to the believers in Antioch. In it we catch sight of their remarkable relationship with the Holy Spirit. They were so at home with the Holy Spirit that they knew what seemed good to Him. What made it possible for them to have this closeness with Him? It was because their first concern was for what seemed good to Him and, only then, what seemed good to them!
The moment you start consistently seeking to know and to do what seems good to the Holy Spirit you will start building a relationship of intimacy with Him. The Holy Spirit will start sharing His feelings with you. He'll start intimating His view of things to you. What used to seem good to you may well then look shallow to you. In its place you'll start to develop a divine discernment of what is truly good.
Do you want well-being prevailing in all areas of your life? Then get to know what seems good to the Holy Spirit and do that! I am reminded of Paul's exhortation to the Thessalonians. He said, "Pray without ceasing!" According to the commentary by Jamieson, Fausset and Brown this literally means, "Pray without intermission". They comment, "(The implication is) pray, without allowing prayerless gaps to intervene between the times of prayer." This describes well the consistency we should cultivate in our relationship with God. We are to be always in touch with Him.
Let's have a 24/7 relationship with God!
