Back from captivity
You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity.
Jeremiah 29:13-14 - NKJV
Above all, your prayer time should be a time of seeking the Father. Let it be the time when your innermost being runs to God. You can make it the time when you reach out for your Heavenly Father to draw you up near to Him. Your Saviour Jesus has consecrated a way for you into the Father's presence. Enter into the Father's presence by that way. There is no better or more important way to start your day than that. Hebrew 10:19-22.
I think that's a marvellous promise in Jeremiah about seeking God and finding Him. He says when I seek Him with all my heart I find Him and He brings me back from my captivity. Is there a captivity I need bringing back from? Yes, frequently. During the events of my day concerns and distresses grab me to make me their prisoner! I need my Heavenly Father to set me free and bring me into His perfect peace again. Isa.26:14.
Revolutionise your prayer life - seek God Himself before you ask anything of Him! When you meet with God, in His presence most of your problems disappear before you even say anything about them. You have to desire Him and seek for Him with all your heart. What you need is a hunger for God. You can get up in the morning, get into prayer first thing and have Him wrap His arms around you. He will be a refuge to you. He will be a protecting, providing Father to you. It is in finding God every morning that you can live your day in the knowledge of His loving care. Psa.16:11, 55:22.
God says, "Seek Me and live!" Amos 5:6
