I keep under my body, and I bring it into subjection; lest by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
1 Corinthians 9:27 - KJV.
One of your jobs from now till Jesus returns is always going to be keeping watch over yourself and bringing your body under subjection. Your spirit is created perfect in Christ Jesus but you're still going to have to deal with your body and its agitating passions. The "temptations that are common to man" are still going to rise up against you but you're going to have keep putting them down.
I want you to be encouraged by this. The trouble you are having with your body is not unusual. Paul had it. We all get it. The question is not, "Are you having trouble?" but, "What are you doing about it?" Paul got to finish his course triumphantly because he refused to give in to his troublesome flesh - he kept beating on it and telling it to get in subjection!
