Never for a moment quail (draw back in fear) before your antagonists. Your fearlessness will be to them a sure token of (their) impending destruction, but to you it will be a sure token of your salvation - a token coming from God.

Philippians 1:28 - Weymouth's Translation

I was asked, "Are you scared of nothing because you have faith in God?" I answered him, "It is not faith that God has given us to deal with fear in our lives. It is His love!" Fear finds no place where God's love resides. When you know in your heart how much God loves you there is no place found in you for fear. You rest in His love instead of quailing at the apparent ability of something to harm you.

There have been moments of fear in my own life. Looking back at my life in Christ this has happened when I wasn't knowing the absoluteness of God's love for me. A fresh realisation of God's love dealt with those moments of fear. This love reassured me of His desire to keep me. As it says in Zephaniah, "He will quiet you with His love." When God's love is revealed to your heart, you come to rest in that love and fear is ejected. It's cast out! God's love is absolute love; in it there is no fear at all! Zeph.3:17, 1Joh.4:18.

God's love comes into your life by the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ. God's Spirit pours God's love out. How can you have more of a revelation of God's love for you? By taking more of Jesus to heart and taking more of His words to heart. Think for a moment what God's love is like! Among other things, it never regards anyone or anything as hopeless. How can you keep yourself in this love? By praying in the Holy Spirit. Rom.5:5, 1Cor.13:4-8, Jude 20-21.

Let perfect love cast out your fear!
