And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.

In prayer we are to ask. There is a whole host of things we do in prayer; ask is one of them. We get in prayer and we ask.

Perhaps, up to this moment, you've thought of prayer and asking as one and the same thing. Yet prayer is a position of the heart, whereas asking is an activity of the mouth. Prayer is a spiritual position from which asking, and other activities, become spiritual and spiritually empowered.

Prayer is the spiritual position that we come into when we give ourselves over to worship and devotion. This is a very important principle to grasp and apply. Whenever you allow your heart to fill with worship and devotion to the point of overflow then you are in prayer. In prayer you can ask and receive. In prayer you can bind and loose. In prayer you can require mountains to be removed and hurled into the sea. In prayer you can require on Earth and request in Heaven.
