The Daily Guide
Together in Christ
I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
Philippians 4:3 - NKJV
Paul was a team player. This is made plain in what he had to say in the verse above. Look how he urged his team to unity and co-ordinated effort. He was positive about them. He was fond towards them. Paul referred to people in the church there as his fellow labourers. He saw all with their names written on the Lamb's Book of Life. He called on them to help one another in Christ and in ministry.
One evening I was sat with a few of my church members and we were sharing scriptures. I am encouraged by the testimonies brothers and sisters shared. I am built up hearing how God has answered prayer. I left the meeting with that warm inner glow that comes from good fellowship and found myself reflecting on what we mean to one another. Our long term partnership with one another in church and in the Gospel is a strength to us. This Christian partnership is just the support we need to make it through the trying times. And in good times it is the encouragement we need to go forwards in Christ. Mal.3:16.
How vibrant are your relationships in the body of Christ? Offer companionship in Christ. Reach out to others with a helping hand and an encouraging word. The devil is always hard at work to stop this kind of church life from developing and to stop you entering into it. If you resist him, though, he'll flee from you! Pray yourself into and pray your church around to dynamic church life characterised by brotherly affection in Christ. 2Pet.1:5-11.
Share together Jesus, His words and His works!
