Fruitful People

by Pastor Simon

This is to the Father's glory. that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

John 15:8 - NIV

Fruit. Fruit that remains. Eternal fruit. Fruit of the Spirit. Fruit that the Spirit produces - in our lives, in our spirits and in the spirits of others through us! So this fruit isn't necessarily in any physical form and yet, of a certainty, its presence in a person's life will positively and wonderfully impact upon human affairs. An abundance of this fruit glorifies God and shows the bearer to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

As a Christian you can bear this kind of fruit, not because you are anything special, but because the One whose life you partake of is special! If you are a disciple of Jesus you bear much fruit, like a branch on a vine, because you are vitally connected to your Lord! That's how you come to bear the abundance of the fruit that the Spirit produces. What's happening is that since you're setting your life up in Christ the spirit and life that flows in Him flows in you to bear much fruit. Take a moment to question your own fruitfulness. Ask yourself, "Where is my life set up? Is it in Jesus the Vine or have I misplaced myself and got myself latched on to something else?" Joh.8:31-32.

How can you be a fruitful branch in Jesus the Vine? By maintaining a vital union with Jesus! By keeping a vibrant relationship with Him by the help of His Spirit. For this, you commune with Him in times of worship, praise and prayer. For this, you also hear His words while His Spirit ministers them to your heart. Do this and you'll see the fruit the Spirit produces manifesting in your life. You'll be blessed, others will be blessed and God will be glorified. Col.2:6-8.

Stay hooked up and vitally united to Jesus!
