God's Spirit, your Helper
Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Psalm 62:8 - NKJV
What's in your heart? Have you taken time to pour it out to God lately? I'm always surprised how quickly things gather up on my heart. When they do they begin to affect how much I am abiding in Jesus the True Vine. Often the first I realise of it is when I wake up to my desperate need for God's strength and I start to pray. By praying in the Holy Spirit we are to keep our hearts light and airy so that good things of the Kingdom of God can flourish there.
Our hearts are like gardens and they have to be kept like gardens. Like gardens our hearts need sowing (a work of God's Spirit) and watering (a work of God's Word). They also need weeding (a work of prayer). Jesus exhorted us over this. He said weeds would grow up in our hearts and choke the good harvest if we don't act to prevent them. It's my time in prayer, pouring out my heart to God in the Holy Spirit, that gets rid of the weeds and clears things so the harvest can grow. Mar.4:14-20.
Whatever's heavy on your heart get it into God's hands! It may be your concerned about something in your own life or perhaps your concern is for someone else. Whatever it is pray it into God's care. The Holy Spirit is with you to help you pray. As you pray He is there to intercede on your behalf. He will deposit with God the cares you have. He will free up your heart from clutter and care. By His intercession your weaknesses can be strengthened, your infirmities healed and your errors of judgement corrected. Ro.8:26-27.
Keep the garden of your heart!
