Who's sufficiency are you in?
This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
Psalm 34:6 - NKJV
I can make it but I'm going to have to make it though with God. My experience shows me I've been heading for a fall whenever I've got to feeling I'd got it all going or I'd got it all together. In other words, I was full of myself. On the other hand, when I've realised that if deliverance was going to come it would have to come by the hand of the Lord then I've experienced the Lord pull me out of the fire!
David experienced the Lord getting him out of all his troubles. How did experience that? It happened because he depended on and called out to the Lord for that deliverance! He didn't consider that in himself he was up to whatever came. He didn't cling to the view that in himself he was sufficient for all things. Rather, he confessed that if anything good and lasting was going to get done it was God who was going to have to do it! David viewed his own resources as coming well short of the reality of total sufficiency. He saw the sufficiency of God as the riches he desperately needed in this life. Those riches made his own riches look like poverty. 2Cor.4:7.
How are you feeling about yourself? You may be feeling you're doing pretty well and getting on fine. Whatever the case may be ask yourself, "Whose sufficiency am I walking in?" This is an important Christian question. The one walking in his own sufficiency will soon come up short while the one walking in God's sufficiency will triumph. Wonderful deliverance, marvellous promotion, glorious peace come to the one who depends in the Lord like David depended on Him! 2Cor.3:4-6, Jer.17:7-8.
You can make it with Christ!
