A priceless possession!

by Pastor Simon

Another parable He put forth to them, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is like to a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is the greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches'.

Matthew 13:31-32 - NKJV

How big has the kingdom of heaven become in you? Your prayer receiving Jesus into your life as your Saviour was you sowing the kingdom of heaven into your life like a seed. Has that seed taken root in you and grown up? I am sure it has if you've been fellowshipping with other believers, receiving God's Word ministered into your life and spending time in prayer and worship. These are the conditions that promote growth of the kingdom in our lives.

The kingdom of heaven is priceless and we who have it, know it! I wonder, though, how clearly we are conveying it and its immeasurable value to those around us. Is the kingdom of heaven big enough in us for others to see it? Is the kingdom of heaven big enough in us to be providing shadow, shelter and refuge in an overheated and stormy world to those who come our way?

This world's way and all it offers would lose all its hold on people if they could discover and recognise in us what a priceless possession the kingdom of heaven was! Then they would eagerly give up the world's way and all it was offering to obtain for themselves the kingdom of heaven. Let's pray for the kingdom of heaven to get bigger and clearer in us! Let's pray the Holy Spirit reveals the kingdom of heaven and its priceless value to those we meet.

May the kingdom of heaven be big in us!
