Escape to God's goodness

by Pastor Simon

Jehoahaz pleaded with the Lord, and the Lord listened to him; for the Lord saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them. Then the Lord gave Israel a deliverer, so that they escaped from under the hand of the Syrians.

2 Kings 13:4-5 - NKJV

The Bible story above is there for your encouragement! It tells of the deliverance from oppression of Jehoahaz and his people! Jehoahaz cried out to the Lord over the oppression of his people and God listened. In truth, God had already seen the oppression and He was just waiting for a cry for deliverance. The moment He got it He moved to deliver!

Your call to the Lord for deliverance is just the invitation He's waiting for! You don't have to live with oppression. Oppression prevents you experiencing the goodness of the Lord in your life. Indeed that is the principle sign of oppression. This is just the situation Jehoahaz found himself in. If you're unable to experience the supply, protection and well-being God granted to you in Christ then it's very likely the devil orchestrating oppression against you. Call upon the Lord and you'll know the presence of your deliverer with you. Jesus Christ is God's gift to you of a deliverer from oppression and the oppressor! See Acts 10:38.

God desires His people to be free from oppression. His people are held back from all the goodness He has provided for them by oppression. This is a sadness to God's heart. He hears every cry for deliverance from oppression. God is yearning to deliver you from it. God sees every oppression. He's waiting for your call. He longs to bring you out into every good thing He has promised you in Christ Jesus. Psa.33:5, 103:6.

Call on the Lord, your deliver!
