Consider Jesus!
Holy brethren, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him.
Hebrews 3:1-2 - NKJV
This Christian life gets a lot easier when you consider Jesus! As you consider Jesus with the eyes of your heart you see Jesus exalted to the place of highest honour at the Father's right hand. In that place of honour and victory you see what He has done for you. You see too what He continues to do for you. You see that He has brought you into righteousness, redemption and reconciliation. Eph.4:8; 1Cor.1:30; Heb.8:1-6.
This Christian life is hard when you are considering yourself! You struggle with prayer. You struggle with your relationship with the Father. You struggle with knowing yourself as God's child. As a result you start to despair of yourself and start thinking you're an inadequate Christian with little chance of being what Jesus saved you for. If you find yourself struggling like that stop and refocus yourself! Peter started to sink when the conditions around him got his attention and he lost the focus he'd had on Jesus. The same will happen to you if you try to do the impossible without seeing Jesus at the right hand of God for you. Mat.14:28-31.
Remind yourself, today, that you're to live this Christian life looking to Jesus and His adequacy and not your own! Consider Jesus! Consider Him as the One who authored your eternal salvation. Consider Him as the One who rescued you from sin and separation from God into union with the Father as His child. Jesus is the One who is going to author rescue for you in all realms of your life. Heb.5:9, Heb.12:2.
Whatever the situation consider Jesus!
