A new page for life

by Pastor Simon

Clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.

2 Corinthians 3:3-4 - NKJV

I turned my note pad to a clean page. As I did the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit prompted my heart saying, "It's so important that your life starts everyday with a clean page to write on!" He then reminded me of the cleansing, renewing and setting apart work of the Blood, the Holy Spirit and the Word. This wondrous work is something we experience when we come into God's presence through Jesus and worship before Him. 1Joh.1:7, 1Cor.6:11, Eph.5:26.

Start your day by getting a clean page. Start it looking for better things to be written on your new day's page. I know at times I've "lost the plot" on my day's page. I'm sure this will have happen to you too. How can things be done better and move better? Better things can be yours by the Holy Spirit. Take time for morning devotions or at least afternoon or evening devotions. In that time, allow God's Spirit to set you right about things, let Him reorganise your life's outline notes and redirect you towards the glorious aims God has in mind for you. Joh.15:13-14.

Make your life a letter (an epistle) worth reading. To make it that way, present your heart to the Holy Spirit to inscribe on it background scenery flowing from and full of God's glory. This glory will then come out in the presentation and tone of your day's actions and words. At the very start of your day pray. It's good to pray using the model prayer Jesus taught (the Lord's Prayer). It's a prayer for a clean page of life and better things to be written on it in the coming day. Mat.6:9-13.

May your page of life glorify God today!
