Heavenly zones of thought

by Pastor Simon

Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Philippians 4:8 - New Living Translation

That verse is precious counsel. The thoughts of your head - and the words of your mouth that are attached to them - promote well-being in your life or break it down. For this reason, watch over what's on your mind. Don't let the world's crisis and disaster news dominate your thinking. Don't let worst scenario scenes get screened in your mind. In the verse above, there are eight zones of thought given you to fix your mind on. Let the promises of God take your thinking into those zones and your mental life can enhance your whole life.

In my life as a Christian I have often been challenged over my thinking and my words. For example, in the early 1990s inspired preaching gave my family and I a vision for living in health in Christ. By faith we took hold of that teaching. The Holy Spirit then began challenging us about our thinking and our words. His exhortation caused us to start putting our thinking and talking right, conforming it to the exhortation given in the verse above. I believe doing this is a major reason why we live so much of the time as a family in divine health today! Mat.12:35-37.

Win back the landscape of your mind for God! Give your mind a thought-landscape that God's Word and His Spirit presents you with. Enter into the Holy Spirit's zones of thought that nurture and nourish life, hope and faith. Safeguard the peace and blessing you have in Christ by staying out of the negative, destructive or fearful thinking and talking of those around you in the world.

Fix your mind on all that builds up
