Together for one another
Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and disregards the offenses of others].
1 Peter 4:8 - Amplified Bible
Saved people are gold on the inside and clay on the outside. We have this treasure in earthen vessels. We need to love and appreciate one another in spite of the outer earthiness. At times you can get ugly behaviour from a brother or sister in Christ. Nevertheless, what they need so very much in these times is to know God's love through us in spite of their earthiness. We need to look beyond the person's sin to see the saint within! We have to know by faith that within each believer is the hidden person of the heart waiting to emerge. 2Cor.4:7.
By our unfailing love for each other we can help each other make another step towards being Christ-like. Have you heard Aesop's fable about the sun, the wind and the man in a coat? The wind boasted he could remove the man's coat in minutes. However, the more he blew the more tightly the man clutched his coat. The wind gave up. Then the sun came out and just started shining. It wasn't long before the man was removing his coat!
God's love gets its greatest expression through the direct connecting of your life with the life of another! You can connect with another's life through prayer but how special is that connection that comes when you put a sincere, encouraging hand on another's shoulder. You have to accept and relate to that other person to do that. It takes effort and it takes time but this type of connecting with another brings a flow of God's love that restores and even heals both of you.
