Take refuge
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you.
Deuteronomy 33:27 - NKJV
God calls us to add His super to our natural! Life can get scary at times. We see what we're up against. We feel our vulnerability. We even start to quake inside. This is natural but it is not helpful. God's calling on us to live above the natural. As Christians, we can resort to God and respond to His Spirit. In that place we find God's adequacy. By it we can accomplish things to His glory. Indeed, Christ will enable us live in His strength and courage even in troublesome times. Psa.46:1-2.
Peter and John, two apostles, got into a scary situation. They were arrested and brought up before the chief priests and elders of Israel to answer for their part in the healing of a lame man. The situation was very intimidating yet the way they spoke out startled the assembly because of their boldness and their unfettered eloquence. The assembly was speechless and caused to consider very carefully what they should do with them. Peter and John were resorting to God as their refuge and responding to the ministry of His Spirit within them. Acts 4:13. (Num.12:3,16:3-4)
What did Peter and John's courage arise out of? They drew from God their courage, strength and help! It was all down to their reliance on God and because they confidently resorted to Him and to His Spirit. They cast themselves on the adequacy of the One who kept them in His arms. Follow their example. Resort to God. Make God your refuge. Let Him be your confidence and your shield. Rest in the security of God's everlasting arms. From that place, flow in the capability He provides! Psa.91:2.
Take refuge in your heavenly Father's arms!
