God's saving power

by Pastor Simon

Save now, I pray, O Lord; O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity.

Psalm 118:25 - NKJV

Well-being in your life starts with you getting saved out of ill-being! In other words, you first need salvation. You need to get saved out of trouble before a way is opened for you into receiving godly prosperity. Eternal salvation is the most fundamental salvation you need. You need Jesus to save you from sin and its horrible consequences. By this, your separation from God is ended and your life starts to be lived with God. With God salvation is available to you from every grievous condition in your life.

Do you desire to thrive? Then first seek salvation! The story of blind Bartimaeus is a good illustration. Bartimaeus way-laid Jesus crying out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Jesus quizzed him, "What do you want me to do for you?" You might have expected a beggar to ask for money but Bartimaeus did not ask for wealth. He asked for his sight! He recognised that enduring prosperity would not come from a cash windfall. He realised if he was to thrive in life he had to have salvation from his blindness. Mar.10:46-52.

What is it you need saving from so that you can thrive? Is it, for example, from anxiety and carrying your cares? Whatever it is, pray like David the psalmist. Pray to be rescued (saved) out of the grievous condition you're experiencing. Make request of the Lord like Bartimaeus. Like him, recognise the most fundamentally hindering condition in your life and petition the Lord for salvation from that. May the Lord set you free so you can find needs fully met as you get on His plan of seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness! Mat.6:33.

May God's salvation in your life lead to you thriving in life
