Is He willing!
And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, 'Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.'
Matthew 8:2 - NKJV
The struggle most of us have as Bible-believing Christians is not about whether God is able but about whether God is willing. We know God is able but we have a battle about whether God is willing to heal us, provide for us, promote us or prosper us. We even hear through testimonies God's willingness to do these things for others but we still get challenged with the question, "Is He willing to do it for me?"
This is what the leper in the verse above needed to know before he could receive his healing. You see, it is not enough for you simply to believe God is able or that He is willing as far as others are concerned. You must believe that He is willing as far as you are concerned! Jesus answered the leper with all assurance and clarity. He declared, "I am willing!" God answers you with the same assurance and clarity by His word. His answer to you is the same as to the leper, "I am willing!" Joh.16:26-27.
What God has done for others He will do for you! The next time you're challenged about whether God is willing to answer your request remind yourself of what God did for you. He loves you and He revealed that love to you by sending His Son Jesus into the world. God did not withhold His Son but gave Him up for us all. If God was willing to do that, how can He not be willing to grant you every good thing? God is willing to save you, restore you and prosper you. By sending His Son to you God demonstrated His commitment to you! 1Joh.4:9, Ro.8:32, Jer.29:11.
Jesus answered, "I am willing!"
