Joy's life changing power
To remain in the flesh is more needful for you and being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith.
Philippians 1:24-25 - NKJV
Joy overflowing from the heart is life changing. In your life as a Christian joy needs to be active. The apostle Paul wrote passionately about joy in his letter to the Philippians. This is both significant and startling because while he wrote he was a captive under threat of death. In his letter he writes of his decision to live instead of depart to be with the Lord. The apostle Paul planned to stick around so joy of faith might abound in Christians in Philippi. He wanted to attend further to their progress and their joy of faith!
How do you ensure joy is active in your life? You praise and give thanks to God from joyful lips and with a joyful posture! You rejoice even before you feel you've anything to rejoice about! This will cause joy to start issuing forth from your heart as an overflow from the reservoir of joy within it. Such rejoicing initiates a release of joy that refreshes and revitalises you. It also becomes a testimony of the presence of God's kingdom in your life!
You have joy as an inner resource from God. God's joy entered your heart at the revelation that Christ had been victorious over death. There is joy in believing. You have joy in your salvation. You have joy as a fruit of the Spirit. Christ's joy remains in you even if happiness seems to distance itself from you. Happiness will return to you as you allow joy to get in overflow! Joy can be as much at work in your life as it was in Paul's!
Praise and let your joy be released!
