Dynamic strength in Christ
Finally, your union with the Lord and with his mighty power must give you a dynamic strength. Put on the complete armour which God can give you...resist the stratagems of the Devil.
Ephesians 6:10-11 - Barclay's translation
On one occasion, I was speaking about taking up authority in prayer. I was referring particularly to times when we need to be delivered or in some way set free. This stirred me up in my prayer life. Thank God it did. Just a few nights later I was attacked in my health and by "stirred up prayer" I got a victory. Indeed, health prevailed over ill health! The next morning I was fired up in prayer. This all caused me to turn the focus of my prayers towards victories in the spiritual realm.
As I began my prayer time, a prompting of the Holy Spirit took me to the verse above about God's mighty power and our relationship with Him. As I read it I was caused to think, "What a different picture of Christians that gives than the one the world usually gets to see!" This challenged me to imagine how things could be! What if we were all, as Christians, going about our daily lives moving in that dynamic strength which arises from our union with the Lord and with His mighty power!
It is in God's dynamic strength that you are to live your life. This comes in the vibrancy of your union with Him. Kenneth Wuest refers to His strength as "the active efficacy (effect) of the might that is inherent in Him". Partake of that active effect of God's might in your life. Get stirred up in prayer and look to walk in it. Wear God's armour. Resist the devil's schemes. Pray in this dynamic strength flowing out of your union with the Lord and His mighty power!
You and the Lord make a dynamic duo.
